DESCRIPTION
OOAK shadowbox with a mermaid, bottle and picture of ship with workers or sailors.
This unique decorative piece consist of a hand painted wood frame measuring 8" wide, 10" tall and 2.75" deep.
Originally there were hooks in the top to hang on the wall, will include them, but I prefer it sitting on a table.
The piece shows a patina of age. The background is an archival print of one of the ships used during the Gulf oil spill clean up.
If you look closely, you can see a couple of works, which provides a sense of scall to the size of the equipment they are working on.
There is a small laser engraved seahorse being held by the mermaid.
The miniature bottle of Grand Marnier is intentionally misspelled as Grand Mariner.
The frame / box is painted with the well known / traditional 'diver down' flag, with a hand finished 'rust' patina.
There is a small label / plaque on top front of the piece that says "A Tale of Two". You make up your own story as to the meaning.
This is a unique conversational piece.
